Ocean County Library to Screen “Do I Sound Gay?”

June 26, 2018

TOMS RIVER – The Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library, 101 Washington St., will celebrate Pride Month with a screening of David Thorpe’s documentary “Do I Sound Gay?” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 26.

Why do some people “sound gay” but not others? Why are gay voices a mainstay of pop culture but also a trigger for bullying and harassment?

The film explores these questions and includes revealing interviews with Margaret Cho, Tim Gunn, Don Lemon, Dan Savage, David Sedaris, and George Takei. For more information on the film, visit: http://www.doisoundgay.com.

This program is free but registration is required. To register call 732-349-6200 or visit theoceancountylibrary.org/events.

Free parking is available at the Ocean County parking garage on Hooper Avenue. Pay parking is available in the Toms River parking garage behind the library. Parking is free after 5 p.m. on the upper level.
